Photographs
from the Hungarton 7 Wednesday 9th July 2003
Hungarton saw the biggest
turnout of Striders so far. Over twenty of us arrived to run on
a hot and humid evening. The race started at 7.15pm but you could
have mistaken it for being much earlier due to the temperature.
One of the toughest courses on the LRRL summer calendar (second
only overall to Desford's own winter league 10k) it was never going
to be easy, but the conditions made it very challenging and not
a day for PB's (unless like me, it was your first time)! With good
performances all round, according to the press, Striders took the
third place team - well done all!
Instead of the usual
photos of people running, we thought it would make a change to get
some 'befores' and 'afters in the pub'. Good plan except we were
so keen on getting the beers and food down our necks, we totally
forgot the 'after' shots! Ah well, there's always the next race!
In the meantime, here are a few mixed photos from that evening

we were cursing it!

Striders Riders, the unofficial cycling branch of the club.
Many thanks to Derek, Mike and Pete for their support during
the race. At most of the races we often have a small group
of supporters either in cars, cycling or on foot. Their encouragement
is always appreciated (as is any offer of drinks when we get
to the pub)!
