Photographs from the Langton 7.5 Sunday 20th July 2003

Another hot sunny day this time saw a good turn out of Striders at Langton. A downhill start tempted a few into going slightly too fast in the first mile. Luckily, the second mile was quite flat. In fact, the course was 'flatish'.......until the last half mile which was all uphill. The organisers were spot on when they said "it has a sting in the tail"!

An interesting feature of this years race was the ladies start being ten minutes before the mens. This gave some men the perfect excuse to chase the ladies!

Ladies start under the tree
Finishing in an excellent 20th position overall, Andy was the first Strider to sample the delights of the hill!
In keeping with his 'fast boy' image, Dave was second Strider.
Clive's so strong at the end, with nobody else to race, he takes on his own shadow!
Relieved at getting up the hill, Matt's floating on air
Phil's 'go faster' haircut comes into play at the top of the hill.
Richard maintains good form at the end.
Gwyneth gives a marshal the elbow.
Francis prepares to stop his watch on the line.
A strong finish from Nigel, Carl and Valda
"Thank you, I can see the line from here" says June.
A stylish finish from Eula.
Narrowly missing a small child, Henry cruises in.
"What's in the goody bag then Matt?"
"Ten quid says I beat you next time."
"Anyone for a picnic?"
