This years run will be held on the 27th December and will be as last year i.e. at Beacon strating from the lower car park. The run will begin at 11 and follow last years route, a challenging 5 mile run from the
car park up to the top of beacon and then down hill through the country until we reach the Bulls Head at Woodhouse Eaves and then returning up the hill to the lower car park at Beacon.
For this years run we thought that we would have a "shared table". The committee will bring the tent, stove, soup, water, tea and coffee etc and the runners will bring food to be shared. If the weather is forecast to be bad then this will be cancelled though the run will go ahead whatever the weather.
Hope to see you all there
Only 2 weeks till our Christmas bash at Sid tickets just £10 includes buffet , wine and beer please let me have your money by Friday 7th December if you'd like to come along !
On Thursday the 21st November at 8:20 in SID (after our run) there will be a presentation from Seth O'Neil from the University of Leicester on exercise induced leg pains e.g. Achilles, shin splints, stress fractures. This should prove to be a very interesting and helpful presentation for all of us and one not to miss. As many of you know Francis has been troubled with Achilles tendon problems on and off for many years and as a result of him attending Seth's Phd work on proving that Achilles tendons problems are a direct result of weak calves, he is now very positive about how Seth's work has helped him to improve his running and the strength of his tendon. The presentation should last approximately 45 minutes followed by questions and answers together with nibbles to keep our strength up.
Hi all, just a little reminder to please wear reflective clothing/vests when you're running in the dark, especially on Tuesday and Thursdays at the quality session/clubs runs.
Steve Bailey has them available ay £5 each if you would like to buy one see Steve or email email@example.com
It is West End Runners' turn for club sharing on our next club night which
is Wednesday 23 October. We don't have anything special lined up, like
many other clubs have done, but we'll be putting on runs at various paces and
having a cup of tea (free) or a beer (not free) afterwards. We meet
in the upstairs social room of the rowing club on Upperton Road at 7-7.15pm for
notices and then we start running at 7.30pm.
Car parking is often difficult, so please share lifts (you can try this
website as well: www.LeicesterSHARE.com). If there isn't
space in the car park, there is usually space on Eastern Boulevard.
There's also a bike rack.
Please spread the word about this among your members and let me know
if you intend to come along.
See you soon.
