Following last year’s successful run, and hoping for better weather this year, we are organising another weekend of events at the Bosworth Battlefield Site on Saturday and Sunday, June 8th and 9th 2013.
This is going to be a weekend not to be missed! Families, friends and past members are especially welcome.
The main event will be a run (not a race) on Saturday from Shenton Station to Shackerstone and back (13.5 miles approx) on road, footpath and canal towpath in the company of a steam train who will blow its whistle to start you off.
Get the family to watch your progress from the train or, if you wish, just do one leg and get a ride back.
EVENT STARTS SATURDAY 8th JUNE AT 12.45PM. FROM SHENTON STATION CAR PARK.
After the run we are planning an evening get-together, with barbeque, on the main field by The Bosworth Battlefield Centre. Please bring your own drinks. Toilets and Hot Shower Facilities will be available.
Other events include:-
Saturday. Overnight camping (£10.00 per tent)
Sunday. Enjoy a campfire breakfast followed by lunch at The Tythe Barn.
Visit the battlefield museum. You’ve seen the film and read the books! Now visit the actual
battlefield site where Richard 111 was killed (a 7.5 mile round trip).
It seems that we will be sharing the site with the Knights Templar so be
prepared for some hand to hand combat!.
