Desford Striders Summer Runs 2008

All club runs start from Sport In Desford (opposite the Caterpillar factory just outside Desford) at 6:45 on a Thursday. Everyone usually arrives between 6:30 and 6:45. The runs are well attended with up to 35 runners taking part. All runners start at the same time and follow the same route for the first part of the run. At a convenient point the total group then splits into two groups and each follows a predefined route classed as the ‘longer’ or ‘shorter ‘ run.

Each run has someone that will guide the runners as to when they need to re-group, usually at 1 to 1.5 mile intervals. This ensures that no one is left running on their own and it provides for a friendly club atmosphere whilst running around the countryside.

Sometimes there may be one or more runners who decide not to do one of the club runs, preferring a short local run or off-road option instead.

If you are interested then please join us on any Thursday night. There is no pressure to join the club and in fact we prefer that you run with us for a few weeks so that you get to know us before deciding on whether you should join us or not.
