Festival of the 40s.jpg

We have an amazing opportunity to play a starring role in the upcoming VE Day Festival of the 40s being hosted by Desford Heritage on 3rd & 4th May.

Desford will be turning back the clock to the 1940s, commemorating, educating, and celebrating all that was done during this decade to secure Victory in Europe. With military displays, dancing, live music, historical re-enactments, fabulous food, and vintage vehicles, there’s something for everyone.

More info on the festival can be found here

Here’s where we come in

The RAF Falcons will be parachuting into Bosworth Academy at midday on the Saturday with a secret coded message for a ‘runner’.

We will then take the message on an 80 mile relay (80 miles for the 80th anniversary) and then hand the message to ‘Winston Churchill’ who will be closing the festival on Sunday at 6pm.

The Route

Relay legs will be 2 miles around the village & you can complete as many laps as you wish, and you can run solo or in a team.

Please let me know if you would like to take part and give me an idea of the times you are available & how many laps you would like to do so I can pull a rough plan together.

Timeslots will be between midday on Saturday til approx. 7:30pm and 9am til 6pm on the Sunday but will depend on how many miles we manage to do!
